After completing the NSP program at Shakla, I understood that every encounter I have with anyone is a kind of negotiation. In the course of that year, I received tools for understanding these encounters and for improving my conduct in them, for my own wellbeing and for the wellbeing of those around me. It was not about slogans or rigid rules but an approach that enables me to conduct my daily life in a more beneficial way. I feel that I have more to learn, and I am just at the beginning, but that year opened my eyes.

Ultimately, my studies at Shakla served as my guidelines throughout the year and afterwards. I acquired new skills in conducting negotiations in the business world as well as in my personal life – relationships changed in positive ways, whether between me and my partner, with my children or with my surroundings near and far. My way of thinking with regard to people and business changed for the better, with more understanding, more listening, and improved skills in asking questions and in conducting difficult conversations.

Shakla was a major landmark experience in my life. Mor and Michael are more for me than just the directors of Shakla. They are true friends.

The NSP program is highly recommended in every possible way. I don’t believe that it is really possible to describe what it added to my life personally and professionally. The academic year at Shakla is an empowering year, changing one’s way of life in a most positive way. The ability to converse differently, without using force, and yet to achieve your goal, while maintaining communication with the other party and considering the day after, is priceless. The year I attended Shakla was the most amazing year of mine with myself.

It is an opportunity to enter a fascinating field with great potential in guiding negotiation processes in the business and community sectors. The basic approach and the methods learned and practiced in the program emphasize the values of mutual respect, sensitivity, listening, learning, curiosity, honesty, transparency and finding common interests, all for the sake of saving emotional and other resources while always considering the day after.
