Negotiation as a Profession

In 2009, Atty. Michael Tsur, the Founder of Shakla & Tariya, was invited to participate in an international think tank in China with 60 world renowned negotiation experts and academics in order to analyze negotiation education. Subsequent to the international conference, Michael published “Negotiation Stands Alone,” an article in which he defines Negotiation as a discipline in and of itself. Negotiation is now a distinct profession, and negotiation professionals are in great demand, especially among decision-making professionals, where there has been a growing need for the assistance of a negotiation professional. The condition for  optimizing a negotiation in a conflict or crisis situation is professional management of the negotiation process, proficiently, in a way that is methodical and structured.

How is Shakla different than anything I ever did or studied in the past?

Unlike training programs, study programs and many other courses I have taken, the process at Shakla excels in profound observation and understanding of the many aspects of negotiation processes. Starting from the methodology aspect ( a new theory) to the aspect of emotional resources and on to a unique approach to the physiological factor.

Belonging to the community of Shakla graduates is a great privilege, to be part of a group of such fine and special people.

Shakla & Tariya’s NSP is not just another program. It is a personal journey that makes you grow and develop. It is a golden opportunity to join a group of outstanding people who study together to acquire methods and applicable tools for being better people, to deeply comprehend the intricacies of thought, to enable the capacity for understanding people professionally and producing constructive and worthwhile communication. I had the privilege of learning how to really listen and how to opt for silence as a tool for undertanding the other party in the process. At Shakla & Tariya I learned how to concentrate on the process and not on the outcome because of clearly understanding that a correct process produces peace of mind and closure.

NSP showed me interesting and varied worlds of content, worlds of negotiation, with professional points. I met a goal-oriented training staff. The subjects studied were accompanied by a lot of examples. While I was doing the program, I started applying the tools I was learning, and I achieved successes in my fields of work, with my family and socially. I discovered a new world that gave me practical tools for my conduct in different areas of my life.

As a person coming from the field of therapy, I found expansion and completion for the business language that is so necessary.
The concern for the personal development of each of the program participants, the assistance, generosity, even in the fare, and the warmth of the special premises with maxims on its walls, altogether make the program embracing, professional, warm, loving, empowering and enriching, especially for one’s professional life but no less for one’s personal life.
